DUVETS, hated then...WHY?! Because the insert would always shift, bunch up, never laid flat and I just didn't have time for one other thing to always need "fixed". Sound familiar?
So NOW a day lot of the duvet covers will now come with ties in the inside corners and the inserts will come with loops on the corners to keep it in place. If you can't find one that does, just do it yourself and you can always use an existing regular ol' comforter (like we did) as the insert to say a little $$
WHAT YOU NEED:
Grosgrain ribbon or scrap
Thread
Needle
Scissors
My duvet cover came with the ties, but seen here you can totally do this yourself too, just stitch a piece of ribbon or scrap in the INSIDE seam near your 4 corners seen below. (About 6" in length, tack down in the middle of that ribbon or scrap)

I just hand stitched one end of the ribbon (about 2.5" long) about 1.5" from the corner and again on the other side of that corner. REPEAT for all 4 corners of your insert. I just doubled up my thread and hand stitching was just fine. I was trying to make it quick and easy!
When you are done, keep your duvet turned inside out and tie the bottom 2 corner ties to the bottom 2 corner loops of your insert (see above, I just single knotted it). Then stuff your comforter into your duvet (flipping it into right side out, takes a little effort).
Once you get your comforter insert in all the way and laid flat just reach inside the top 2 corners of your duvet and tie those onto the loops of the insert!!
VOILA! The corners will NEVER shift again and I can finally have a cute duvet in my bedroom again with all the daily annoyance!
